While I am a great believer in the need for privacy and governance of that privacy, the pace, scope and speed of changes give me cause for concern. I want a chance to pause and reflect and, most importantly, get things right in terms of my own website.
I am not a limited company and my understanding is that as an individual, I am not covered by the cookie law. But given what I write about I feel I should always strive for compliance. So I’ve taken the decision not to allow cookies on this website, as much as possible.
The two areas I am less able to control are Amazon, when you follow a link from my book store and go to Amazon and WordPress, the platform I used to create this site. You can find out more about Amazon and WordPress cookies below.
I currently do not gather Google Analytics. I’ve also made a conscious decision not to allow advertising at this stage.
WordPress deposits a cookie when you leave a comment on anything I write. For this reason I’ve turned off comments at this stage. If you want to talk about something I’ve written please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org

When any of the above changes I will let you know and make sure you have the information you need to either allow or prevent cookies from me.

Privacy in general
Personal privacy is important. I don’t gather or store data for the sake of it – only about specific clients as it relates to my work with them, or for the duration of an active enquiry from a new client. But I am registering with the Information Commissioner.
